Service Experience Intern - Office of Service Experience

Internship Summary: 
This internship will provide training and practical experience focused on providing services and solutions to support both internal and external partners with technology initiatives. This is a customer facing role allowing scholars to assist with managing technology projects, providing communications and project management, and participating in state partnership and outreach. The experience will benefit scholars planning a career in technology support services, operations, communications, or project management, specifically in the public service or governmental sector. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
The scholar in this position assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of operational functions associated with the Office of Service Experience. The scholar provides service and support for the FL[DS] offices of Information Security, Data Management, and the State of Florida enterprise agencies. 
 
Scholars will assist with the following: 
  • Successful management of cross functional projects, ensuring timely and successful completion. 
  • Monitors and reports project status, issues, and risks. 
  • Anticipates and identifies opportunities for service delivery to agency customers and designs and recommends solutions to meet their needs. 
  • Performs information gathering, research, and data analysis, and presents findings verbally and in writing using a variety of formats depending on audience needs. 
  • Actively engages in regular and transparent communication with customers to establish relationships and build credibility. 
  • Effectively facilitates meetings and collaborative sessions with internal and external customers. This includes, but is not limited to, pre-meeting preparations (agenda development and calendar invitations) and meeting follow-up tasks and activities including meeting minutes and action items tracking.  
  • Participates in the FL[DS] Service Experience team’s efforts to achieve quantifiable successes on defined and targeted missions that includes actively participating in collaborative internal and external team meetings. 
  • Participates in the creation of standardized templates and documentation aimed at streamlining operations across the enterprise and providing reports as necessary to provide timely insights for the team and customers. 
  • Related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Student classification of junior, senior, graduate, or recently graduated is required. 
  • Two Semester commitment is required. 
  • Declared major or field of study from the list below is required. 
  • Student must be in good academic standing. 
  • U.S. citizenship is required. 
  • Candidates are required to successfully undergo a criminal background check and complete CJIS certification which requires fingerprinting. 
  • This is an in-office position. Students are required to work onsite in the FL[DS] office in Tallahassee, FL.  

Compensation:
Hourly Rate: Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.  
Housing and Travel Expenses: Considered based on circumstance. 

Fields of Study: 
Business Administration, Information Technology, Operations Management, Communications, Hospitality Management, Management Information Systems, Organizational Leadership, Marketing, or any related field.
